# Anchor Price from October 1, 2026: What You Need to Know, Deadlines and Fines
**Anchor price. Additional price. Two names, same thing — and an obligation that hits every retailer, craftsman, farm and service provider in Croatia from October 1, 2026. If you sell anything to consumers, this applies to you.**
The Official Gazette (Narodne novine) published two decisions on September 11, 2026 (NN 101/2026) that fundamentally change how prices must be displayed. The first introduces mandatory display of the **additional (anchor) price**, the second mandates publishing a digital price list in XML/CSV format for anyone with a website.
Deadline? **October 1, 2026** — in 3 days. Fines? Up to **€30,000**. Here’s what you need to know.

## 🎯 What is an anchor price?
Simply put: **the old price you must show alongside the current price**.
The buyer needs to see how much something has increased (or decreased) compared to the reference date. For most products and services, the reference date is **September 10, 2026** — the price valid on that day must be displayed alongside today’s price.
Haven’t changed your price? No matter — you still need to show both amounts. If they’re the same, it reads €30 current / €30 anchor.

## 📅 Which date applies?
| Situation | Reference Date |
|———–|—————|
| Most products and services | **September 10, 2026** |
| Food, beverages, cosmetics, cleaning products (already covered) | **May 2, 2025** |
| Newly introduced products | First day of sale |
## 👥 Who is obligated?
**Everyone.** The decision explicitly covers:
– Companies
– Craftsmen (including flat-rate craftsmen)
– Farms (OPGs)
– Freelancers
…if they sell products or provide services to **end consumers**. B2B or B2G businesses are exempt — if you’re exclusively business-to-business, you don’t need to comply.
## ⚠️ Fines
| Type of Offender | Fine |
|—————–|——|
| Legal entity (company) | **€3,000 — €30,000** |
| Craftsman / freelancer | **€1,000 — €20,000** |
| Responsible person in legal entity | **€1,000 — €4,000** |
## 💻 XML/CSV price list on website
If you **have a website** (any kind — even informational), you must publish a digital price list in **CSV or XML format**. Social networks (Facebook, Instagram) are **not considered websites** for this obligation.
**Key rules:**
– CSV or XML — one format is enough, not both
– Products: daily updates by **8:00 AM** for the current working day
– Services: update only when prices change, by 8:00 AM on the day of change
– Old price lists must remain available for **30 days**
– Multiple locations = separate file for each
– Webshop = separate file from physical store
– **No website = no obligation** (you don’t need to create one for this)
